METHI PARATHA

Methi parathas are a quick and easy way to include rich fenugreek leaves in your diet. Packed with green goodness, these can be had for breakfast, lunch or dinner alongside a variety of options like curries, pickles or yoghurt.

  • SPICE LEVEL : MILD
  • SKILL LEVEL : MEDIUM
  • TOTAL TIME : 45 MINS
  • SERVES : 2
INGREDIENTS:
  • 250g Wheat flour
  • 100g Surya Chopped Methi (Fenugreek Leaves)
  • ½ tsp Ajwain powder
  • ¼ tsp Red chilli powder
  • Salt as per taste
  • 70ml Water
  • 1 tbsp Sunflower oil
METHOD:
  • In a large mixing bowl, thaw the methi cubes for 10 minutes.
  • Add in 200g flour, spices, salt and start combining it into a dough.
  • Add 70ml water and knead the mixture until it combines well into a firm dough. Add more water if necessary.
  • Once the dough reaches a tight consistency, add in a tablespoon oil, knead again and keep it aside to rest for 15 minutes.
  • Bring a flat pan to heat.
  • Meanwhile, divide the dough into 8 equal sized balls.
  • Using a rolling pin and the remaining dry flour, start flattening each ball into round parathas. Roll them evenly to a medium thickness, this will ensure the paratha cooks well on all sides.
  • Turn the heat to medium and start cooking the paratha. Cook the first side for 30 seconds and then flip it. Add some oil on top and spread it. Cook the paratha until it starts to slightly brown on both sides.
  • Serve hot with a side of pickle, yoghurt or any preferred curries.
